COVID-19 CLASS AND FACILITY UPDATES
Dear YMCA Community,
At the YMCA of the Wabash Valley we are guided by the principle to help strengthen the foundations of community. We want to let you know we’re thinking about all of you – our staff, our members, our program participants, our suppliers and our community partners – as we work through the effects of the coronavirus.
The local Boards of Health remain the primary point of contact for us. The Health Departments in each of the communities we serve are working diligently with the Indiana Department of Public Health (DPH) and local representatives from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Based on their guidance and information we are receiving we have decided upon the following:
Beginning March 18th:
All Group Exercise classes will be suspended
The Vigo County YMCA pool will be closed
Adult sports will be suspended
- Facility access will be limited to YMCA members and guest day passes will not be sold.
We are pleased to offer you access to FREE online workouts and group exercise classes to help you stay fit during this time of social distancing. These options offer high-quality workouts via TV, computer, tablet, and smartphone.
YMCA 360 virtual group exercise workouts and classes will be made available to the community.
- Additional virtual class options will be announced later this week.
In uncertain times like these, we must be there for one another. The effects will be far reaching, and, in response, we all need to think sensibly and empathetically. By following the latest trusted science and leading with our hearts, we will get through this together.
Take good care,
YMCA of the Wabash Valley
