WATER AEROBICS

Jump in the pool for a low impact cardio and toning class. Integrating water based exercises into a joint friendly fun workout. Our water aerobic classes have everything that you're looking for! Flexibility, range of motion, muscle conditioning, improved cardiovascular endurance and muscle tone by using the buoyancy and resistance of the water. This is a great way to workout with no impact or harmful effects on joints/muscles and stay cool. Ideal for all fitness levels, non-swimmers included.

DEEP WATER CHALLENGE

Be ready to get wet and sweat with this high energy 45 minute deep water class. Creative an challenging movements will improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen your core, and develop muscular endurance without stress on joints.  Expect upbeat motivating music, selected resistance equipment, and buoyancy belts for adds benefit.  Although this class is taught in deep water, shallow water participants are welcome.

SWIM LESSONS

The Vigo County YMCA offers American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim lessons.  The ARC offers a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate swim program that teaches your child how to swim skillfully and safely.  We offer group swim lessons for youth and private lessons for all ages.  Sign up by calling or coming into the YMCA.

WATER WALKING

Are you looking to get in the water but aren't ready to swim laps?  Try water walking. Water walking is a good workout with a low impact for those with knee, hip, and joint issues. *This is not a class* you do this independently while lap swim is going on.
